5. Responsible market surveillance authority
For Germany:
To fulfill the tasks of the Accessibility Strengthening Act, the states are currently establishing a joint authority.
The market surveillance authority of the states for the accessibility of products and services (MLBF) is to commence operations as a new public law institution on June 28, 2025, in Saxony-Anhalt, in the state capital Magdeburg. A prerequisite for this is the ratification of the state treaty for the fulfillment of tasks according to the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) by all federal states. All states are currently creating the necessary conditions for this.
